If you've been considering a scientific way to fat loss, you may have come across JRNYS. They are all over Facebook, and so much so that many of my clients are asking me if they're legit.
This article serves as a resource for my clients, and anyone else interested in learning more about JRNYS – who they are, what they offer, how it works, pros and cons and how it compares to other options that I've covered for my community (like Remedy Meds, Fridays and Join Josie).
Ready? Me too, let's get right into it.

What Is JRNYS?
JRNYS is a telehealth platform offering personalized treatment plans for weight loss and sexual wellness. What sets them apart is their wide range of GLP-1 medications—including both compounded and brand-name options—as well as their promise of same-day appointments and fast, 100% online care.
Their program was developed by Dr. Henry Legere, a Columbia-trained physician with a Harvard immunology fellowship. That’s legit.

What JRNYS Offers
- Compounded GLP-1s: Semaglutide and Tirzepatide (cash pay) – for now, they offer these, time will tell for the future
- Name-Brand GLP-1s: Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, Zepbound™ (insurance accepted)
- Sexual Wellness: Includes Sildenafil (generic Viagra®)
- Metformin: Compounded version available for metabolic health support
For My Menopause Clients
If you're in perimenopause or menopause, you're probably facing an even tougher time with weight gain—especially around the belly. I’ve had so many clients tell me that no matter what they eat or how much they move, the scale doesn’t budge. GLP-1 medications may help, but it’s important to choose a provider who understands the hormonal changes going on in your body.
While JRNYS is a solid option for weight loss overall, if you're in menopause, I strongly recommend checking out providers who specialize in GLP-1 programs designed for midlife women. You can explore those in my guide to the top GLP-1 providers for menopause (you’ll see exactly which ones my clients have had the most success with).
How JRNYS Works
The process is fully online and looks like this:
- Start with a detailed intake questionnaire
- Get matched with a provider, typically the same day
- Get your prescription, if approved
- Medication shipped directly to your door
They emphasize clinical excellence and quick turnaround. Many of my clients say they appreciate being able to talk to a provider fast and get clear answers.
After taking the quiz myself and answering the questions honestly, I was told, “You're eligible for treatment!” See my screenshots below:

Pros and Cons of JRNYS
✅ Pros
- Offers both compounded and brand-name medications
- Insurance accepted for FDA-approved meds
- Same-day visits and quick shipping
- Backed by a doctor with Ivy-league training
- 24/7 medical team access
❌ Cons
- Pricing is unclear upfront for compounded meds
- No Trustpilot page or verified public reviews
- Less focused support for menopause or women in midlife
- No strong community or coaching features like Fridays or Josie
Is JRNYS Affordable?
If you’re paying cash, JRNYS does offer compounded options, which are typically more affordable than the brand-name GLP-1s that can cost over $1,000/month without insurance.
But their pricing isn’t listed clearly on the website. That’s a red flag for some of my clients who want to compare options. You’ll need to start the process to see what your medication might cost.
If you have insurance, you can use it to potentially cover Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Zepbound™, or Mounjaro®—but that still depends on your plan.
Compounded vs Brand-Name GLP-1 Medications
JRNYS offers both, and this is a big deal.
Brand-name meds like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, and Zepbound™ are FDA-approved. They’re effective but pricey and not always covered by insurance.
Compounded medications use the same active ingredients (semaglutide or tirzepatide), made by state-regulated compounding pharmacies when brand-name meds are in shortage.
Note: learn more by reading our compounded vs name-brand GLP-1 medications
Important: “While the facilities producing these compounded medications are highly regulated, the FDA has not evaluated these specific formulations for safety, quality, or efficacy.”
With the FDA shortage recently declared over, compounding may be phased out soon. If you’re currently using compounded meds—or considering them—you’ll want to stay updated.

Remedy Meds is great if you want fast access to compounded meds without insurance hassles. Fridays offers full lifestyle coaching and support. Join Josie is my go-to pick for midlife women and those in menopause.
JRNYS stands out for those who want access to brand-name GLP-1s using insurance and same-day provider access. But it lacks community and personalized support.
Common Questions
Is JRNYS legit?
Yes, JRNYS is a telehealth platform with real licensed providers and a Chief Medical Officer trained at Columbia and Harvard. They offer both compounded and brand-name GLP-1 medications and have real humans behind their service, not just a chatbot experience.
Can I get Ozempic® or Mounjaro® through JRNYS?
Yes, they offer both brand-name GLP-1s like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, and Zepbound™—and they accept insurance for these options, which can make a big difference in price if you're eligible.
What if I don’t have insurance?
They also offer compounded versions of semaglutide and tirzepatide via cash pay. If you’re paying out-of-pocket, these can be more affordable options, though they’re not FDA-approved and may be phased out depending on how current regulations play out.
How fast can I start?
According to their site, provider visits can happen the same day, and everything is done online. Most people can get started pretty quickly, assuming they qualify.
Will I get support after starting?
JRNYS offers 24/7 messaging access to their medical team. They also have personal coaching available, but it’s unclear how that compares to other platforms like Fridays or Join Josie that include more structured lifestyle coaching.
Is compounded semaglutide still allowed?
For now, yes—but there’s a lot of movement in this space. The FDA has declared the semaglutide shortage over, which could affect availability of compounded meds. I cover this in more detail in this guide about compounded vs brand-name GLP-1s if you're curious.
Is compounded tirzepatide still allowed?
For now, it's supposed to be discontinued. However, there are providers out there still selling it, such as Willow, RemedyMeds, Fridays and Henry Meds. For how long this goes on, nobody knows…
Final Thoughts
JRNYS might be a good fit if:
- You want to use insurance for brand-name GLP-1s
- You like quick access to a medical team
- You’re okay with fewer frills and coaching
It may not be the best fit if:
- You need more emotional or lifestyle support
- You’re in perimenopause or menopause and want tailored help
- You want to see transparent pricing before signing up
If you're curious about JRNYS, give their intake process a try. It costs nothing to start, and you’ll get a clearer picture of your options.
And if you’re still unsure, I have full reviews on Remedy Meds, and Join Josie is on our best menopause GLP-1 list, so that you can compare your options.
